On Saturday, 7 September 2019, the COME TOGETHER CUP AT SCHALKE in Gelsenkirchen will see football, discussion and celebration for the third time. An expected 12 women's and 32 men's teams from all areas and walks of society will compete against each other on a total of eight pitches, and in the Glückauf-Kampfbahn a humorous celebrity fun match hosted by CTC ambassador Manni Breuckmann will provide entertainment.
Play begins in the Glückauf-Kampfbahn at 9:30 a.m., and from 11:00 a.m. a beer garden as well as food and information stands also await visitors. The supporting programme starts with the handover of the fun cup at 3:00 p.m. and reaches its climax with the celebrity fun match at 4:15 p.m. In this rather humorous “kickabout”, local and national personalities show off their footballing skill – or at least their willingness – without taking things too seriously. It is much more about the fun that players and spectators have alike. The two teams LATENTE TALENTE vs. ONE WORLD TEAM will include the football world and European champions Sonja Fuss and Inka Grings as well as Conchita 4711 and a host of “personalities who are practically world-famous in Gelsenkirchen” (among them Pokerface Michael Robionek, Mr Carnival Björn Tondorf and many more).
The match will be commentated live by WDR radio legend Manni Breuckmann. At 5:30 p.m. the Come Together HEART 2019 will be presented, followed at 5:45 p.m. by the moving Moment of Silence. After that the colourful amateur football tournament enters its decisive phase. The finals begin at around 6:30 p.m. The subsequent award ceremony will be conducted by mayor Martina Rudowitz and forms the crowning conclusion of a colourful and varied day.
