SKO @ Come Together Cup 2018

On 1 September 2018 the time had come for the second time that year. After the CTC in our home city of Cologne, the SK-Office team “SKO (le Ole)” was back at the CTC at the Glückauf-Kampfbahn.

Main facts

The Come Together Cup has been running for 25 years. It is held under the theme “group-focused enmity in sport” and the 2018 CTC motto “Gemeinsamer geht's nicht” – playing football against each other, talking to each other and celebrating together. The charity football event aims to set an example for an open, tolerant society in and outside sport. In addition, the CTC supports several charitable and social institutions at once.

We personally stand for the values of open-mindedness, tolerance and diversity and are therefore proud to take part as main sponsor once again.

The programme

At 9:30 a.m. the CTC started with 36 teams in the men's tournament and 12 in the women's tournament on 8 small pitches. The SKO team of course took part as well. In the group stage our matches ended as follows: 0:3, 2:5, 1:2, 2:6, 2:3.

That meant we unfortunately did not qualify for the following rounds and were eliminated. The winners this time were once again the Klabusterbeeren.

Besides the tournaments the CTC had much more to offer. Throughout the event players and spectators were supplied with plenty of drinks and food, and relaxed music was played across the whole site, which made the CTC an interesting event for young and old alongside the football tournaments.

At 4:15 p.m. the celebrity fun match of the Latente Talente began, with invited celebrities from sport, the community and many other players. After the Moment of Silence at 6 p.m., when everyone present paused for a minute to remember all those who experience discrimination, the finals and the award ceremony followed.

We would like to thank everyone involved for a great CTC at the Glückauf-Kampfbahn and look forward to the next Come Together Cup in Cologne!
