My name is Yannik Wolf and I am 22 years young.
I am currently in the final phase of my apprenticeship as an office management assistant at SK-Office Deutschland GmbH.
I am a person with a strong interest in sport who tried out various sports in clubs from an early age and, along the way, stuck with my love, athletics. Another hobby of mine is music. I developed that passion through my parents and playing the saxophone, which I still try to pursue as best I can. Whether I am simply listening to music or playing myself. All in all I am a very empathetic person who pays attention to the people around me. I am very focused on there being a certain harmony among the people around me.
For me, politeness and respectful interaction are the be-all and end-all of relationships between people. I wanted to develop my soft and hard skills through my apprenticeship. The soft skills were particularly important to me, because that is where I see my potential. I came across SK-Office Deutschland GmbH by chance through an apprenticeship portal. The payroll sector was unfamiliar to me beforehand, as I had had no contact with it as a former pupil fresh out of school with my A-levels. What particularly appealed to me back then was the company philosophy, which described a very modern and family-like way of dealing with employees and clients alike. I was worried about not taking much away from an apprenticeship and being kept small there. The apprenticeship at SK-Office completely dispelled that, because I was involved in processes early on – of course only under close supervision so that no serious mistakes happened. Despite the close checks it was made clear to me that it matters to the company to train future employees from the ground up and to teach them a certain competence very early. My nature responded to that, because being involved in things quickly was very inspiring for me. Beyond that I am becoming aware that you never stop learning in life and can always acquire new things.
I never want to stagnate in my life or let obstacles get me down. For me the journey is and remains the destination.
At first the coronavirus pandemic had no major effects on me. The company reacted quickly and gave us the opportunity to continue our work safely. Even so, it was a challenge as an apprentice, because you were not yet as experienced in the work processes as other employees. That made more communication with other employees necessary, as questions kept coming up. Here too the company was fortunately able to react quickly and developed a hygiene concept so that the apprentices could be brought into the office in order to provide the necessary support.
In private I keep reminding myself that there are many people whom this pandemic has hit far harder, so as to be aware of how lucky I am in an unlucky situation. I try to face the problems, and the challenges that come with them, with a smile, so that I come out of this situation healthy and having developed further. I hope that we learn from this pandemic and become aware of how important nature conservation and sustainability are for us all.
Above all we should become aware that protecting the weaker should be a priority for the socially stronger.
